The egg industry has treated me quite well, but I still have a lot to do before I can feel confident that most producers are utilizing sustainable and humane practices. But I quickly realized that we were only hurting the smaller operations, because the larger ones simply did not care and did not alter their behavior in any way.
So rather than waste time launching claims against farmers, I decided that there must be an alternative option that would not only benefit consumers and animals, but also the producers themselves who may be either unable or unwilling to change.
Then getting involved with a new company that specializes in bringing sustainable technology to farms and selling the equipment to them, I realized that this was a much more effective route of action. Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day, but teach a chicken farmer how to produce sustainably, and he’ll be wealthier and have better products moving forward!
