Being the first time I participated in a research study in Montreal Quebec Canada, I was surprised and delighted to find my accommodations to be with Gesthab for the duration of the study. The research study being conducted was in the vein of childhood development, so it consisted of a lot of questions about my childhood and also some interesting interactions with families and their children, in addition to some group therapy type sessions. It was fascinating to meet others participating in the study and learn more about their backgrounds in development.
I’m still not entirely sure of the goal for the study, since it was a single-blind process, but the duration was pleasant and clean all the way through. I had heard some horror stories from friends who had done studies before, along with some really great stories, so considering the potential mixed bag, this turned out well!
Working in higher education, I guess it was only natural to be aware of these types of programs, and even though I had turned others down before, there was just something about this one in particular that resonated with me. I suppose the clarity on process and accommodations was an enticing factor when I think about it more too.
The housing isn’t necessarily a guarantee for all studies, so seeing that this one had a partnership with Gesthab for an executive suite in Montreal in Montreal Quebec Canada, definitely made it more appealing. I knew that if this kind of attention went into the care of the participants, that the study itself must be good.
I had everything I could possibly need to be comfortable from the outset, and I loved how even when I had any kind of question or request, it was answered or dealt with very quickly by the customer service folks. Being such a good initial experience, I am very tempted to do another!
With the end of this first research study in Montreal Quebec Canada, I am seriously considering doing another one in the near future. Especially if there is a follow up to this particular study, I hope they will book an executive suite in Montreal with Gesthab again for the participants, because if they do, then I know that it will be yet another smooth and very worthwhile experience in which I can provide my insight, perspective and opinion in a way that matters.
